Current Music: In The Bleak Midwinter... Harpsichord style.
This is old, but I love it...and I feel crappy, so I need the cheering.
Rules:
Put iTunes on shuffle. Song per question.
How am I feeling today?:
Don't Think Twice, It's Alright by Johnny Cash. I really am not a fan of him, but it's the most splendid recording of a fantastic, and slightly appropriate song.
Will I get far in life?:
I'm Free by The Who. I really think this could be the best answer to this. I hope hope it's true.
How do my friends see me?:
Dedicated to the One I Love by Living Guitars. An iffy cover of a decent song, but I'm glad my friends see me as loyal.
Where will I get Married?:
Don't Think Twice, It's Alright by The Allman Brothers. Umm? Is this a bad omen that I won't be getting married??
What is my best friend's theme song?:
When Love Walked In by Enoch Light. Well, seeing as I can't name a best friend in my life right now, it's good to know they have a song.
What is the story of my life?:
Hallelujah by Allison Crowe. Yeah. Most definately. Most Most Definately.
What was highschool like?:
Harper Valley PTA by Enoch Light. I swear to god, I don't plan this shit. It just oddly works out.
How can I get ahead in life?:
All You Need is Love from Across The Universe (soundtrack). True Story. :)
What is the best thing about me?:
Don't Do Sadness/Blue Wind from Spring Awakening. Can't be the best thing... I totally do sadness.
How is today going to be?
Beecharmer by Nellie McKay & Cindi Lauper. Yeah, it probably will be. Honestly.
What is in store for this weekend?:
The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky. Oh God. I hope my weekend is not a creepy as fuck ballet.
What song describes my parents?:
If You Rescue Me from The Science of Sleep. I'm ok with that actually... and I really want to see this movie again.
My grandparents?:
Let it Be by Joan Baez. Yeah. Yeah. Well, more the dead grandma, not the living one. But I actually think of my dead grandma everytime I hear this song.
How is my life going?:
Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring by Bach, played on Steel Drums. You know, they can't all make sense. Plus, why the fuck do I even have this song in my itunes?
What song will they play at my funeral?:
Frank Mills from HAiR (Revival Cast... ie. Annie Golden!) . God. I hope not.
How does the world see me?:
Blue Jay Way from Across The Universe (soundtrack). Awesome. I just wish it was the LOVE version.
Will I have a happy life?:
G.E.S. by Nellie McKay. It almost spells Yes... plus the song is appropriate. and beautiful.
Do people secretly lust after me?:
Song for a Blue Guitar by Red House Painters. Such a tragic song.
How can I make myself happy?:
Night They Drove Old Dixie Down by Enoch Light. Um..... Civil War??
What should I do with my life?:
Twelfth of Never by Dolly Parton & Keith Urban. I adore the song, and I suppose it means, love people forever!
Will I ever have children?
Red Rubber Ball by Gary Lewis & The Playboys. I'll take that as a yes.
What is some good advice?:
Blackbird from Across The Universe (soundtrack). Indeed it is. Great advice actually. Take your broken wings and learn to fly.
What is my signature dancing song?:
No Easy Walk to Freedom by Peter, Paul, & Mary. Ok. I do dance dorkily to old school folk music.
What do I think my current theme song is?:
The Snow by Edward Elgar. So, I adore the harmonies in this song so much, I had to listen to it twice... Oh, Snow. Be Thou as White.
What does everyone else think my current theme song is?:
Happy Trails To You by Van Halen. I don't think I'm ok with this...
What type of men/women do you like?:
You Still Believe in My Friends by The Beachles. Sure.

Current Music: "Iowa" by Dar Williams
I'm exhausted and ready for bed, freshly home from work, only so I can leave again at 1pm. For work. Again. I'll break this post into 2 parts for ease.
The Bad (always want to hear that first):
* I have like 5 real friends in Pittsburgh, and with out them, I'd go crazy. I wish I had more.
* I work at Sheetz. I have a BA in Religion and I run a cash register, make coffee, and sweep up cigarette butts in a parking lot. Thusly, I'm never errantly discarding the remnants of a smoke break in ANYONE's parking lot. Ever again. I don't even get to make food.
* That being said, I've been trained on cash register for 5 days. Tomorrow we're getting a brand new cash register system that I'll have to learn from scratch. Gah.
* My cell phone is STILL broken. Has been since March 17th. I do have a home line. It's in facebook... Some one could call me sometime ;)
The Good:
* I have HAiR auditions coming up. I'm psyched. Wish me luck!!! (And they MUST go better than the last ones! I don't want to cry for a week again).
* I was in A Grand Night For Singing, and Erin & Jeff came. It was great to see people again!
* Oklahoma City is looking really good, I've been talking to them alot, and it looks like I'll have affordable housing, decent financial aid, and maybe even a job. (And NOT in housing. Yay!)
* I'm reading American Gods and I love it. Next up is Suite Francaise. It promises to be amazing!
* I LOVE Mika. And the Kelly Clarkson & Reba MacIntire duet of "Because of You" It's to die for!
* Speaking of great music, I was at a phenomenal Dar Williams concert tonight. She played a great set. I was in bliss.
I miss everyone.
Love to my friends.
Come visit soon.

Sore from the gym time.
Current Music: Opening from the new cast recording of Company
So I'm back in Pittsburgh, my B.A. in Religious Studies (which does abbreviate to BARS) sits proudly on the mantle flanked by vases of plastic tulips, and that seems to be all the use that I'm going to get out of it. I'm trying to find a job, I really am. I had a promising first interview for Mortgage Telemarketing, but apparently I'm not as charming in person as I am on the phone (important, why?) and I don't have the fiscal knowledge to successfully sell people mortgages over the phone. (Hell, if this thing didn't have spell-check, I wouldn't even be able to spell mortgage, I'd still be doing morgage!)
Anyways, I'm now back at almost square one on my job hunt, there's always the telesolicitations for the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, with a chance for a temporary promotion when my old boss goes on maternity leave, and there's the B.P. which needs 2nd shift clerks.
In other news, I've been going to the gym a lot, and I have a private trainer, Brooke. She's really nice, and I luckily got in at the right time, on a student deal of ninety-nine dollars for 3 months w/ personal trainer. (Yeah, I still use my student ID all the time, for theater and movie tickets, tanning, gym memberships, ten percent off lunch, you know... whatever, I don't have to tell them I've graduated.)
The other big thought that I've been having lately is that I no longer want to attend graduate school. Maybe it's just having a BA that I do nothing with, and can do nothing with, less than excites me about spending 2 more years of my life to get a MA that I can do nothing with, let alone a PhD that I could do nothing with. I mean even with a PhD, I'd have to battle with all those other kids with their PhD in Religion to get a teaching job. I just feel like I want to start all over and get an MBA w/ a nice 50k salary. I don't know, so advice is welcome. It's not that I don't love religion, I do, and would love to study it at a higher level, but I just can't keep putting myself in debt for a degree that has no job promise at the end.
Alright kids, it's time for bed, I've greatly enjoyed talking to you again, and let's hope it continues throughout the summer!

Current Music: Move Along - The All-American Rejects
So, basically, ask for a letter, and then post 10 songs that start with that letter.
I have the letter "L", graciously given to me by Miss Alice.
These are in no particular order, I like them all equally... except maybe #2, but that one has an accompanying Bess Dance, so that's not fair.
1. "Last Train to Clarksville" by the Monkees
2. "Little Earthquakes" by Tori Amos
3. "Like a Prayer" by Madonna (I won't throw in the too similar "Like a Virgin")
4. "Let it Be" by the Beatles
5. "Leaving on a Jet Plane" by John Denver (and done better by Peter, Paul, and Mary)
6. "Lily of the West" by Joan Baez
7. "Live and Let Die" by Paul McCartney and the Wings
8. "Let's Get Retarded" by The Black Eyed Peas
9. "Little Red Riding Hood" by Sam the Sham
10 "Lily's Eyes" from Secret Garden (The musical)
Other than that, I'm sorry I haven't updated much, staff training wore me out, and I think It may be better to just skip the last 4 months of my life than make you sit through that in a post. So we'll start clean from today :)

Also, if any of you read my profile (berrydude03), and keep up with the Song of The Week, I have finished this semester... if you'd like one of the totally awesome Song of The Week CD's leave a note here or jot me an AIM message. It's a good mix of songs, and I love them so you should too.
I'm putting up the old default Userpic, because it reminds me of better times. I also hate this weather, it has taken away my spring. MY SPRING that makes me feel nostalgic and fills my heart with happiness and replaced it with fucking summer or some shit like that. Piss a motherfucking cock.

Current Music: The Song of the Week!
So lately life has kind of sucked... but not anymore.. I finally feel that I have got those guy friends that I never had in high school and surprisingly that makes me feel really good about myself. Also I've been doing really good with my weight and my satisfaction with my body... especially when Phil asked if I worked out before spring sing because my arms looked decent in the wife beater. (Alex added that I didn't look fat, just hairy) I actually really like our pledges this semester, I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to want to be in Theta Chi!
Also:
1. Kati, I hope you feel better soon!
2. I have a new song of the week... (check berrydude03 on AIM to see what it is!)
3. I am finally content with all life, esp. mine!
4. I don't really want to read Revalation for Vic tomarrow... :(
5. James Fraiser rocks my socks.
6. Tonights like Tonight remind me why I am glad I never committed suicide in high school.
7. I never want to become Dr. Holmes.
8. I also am sad that I have 5 days left of Bacon love. I may eat a pound of it on Sat... but then giving it back up should help with the weight loss goal.
9. I finally have the relationship with a girl that I have wanted! Kati ;)
10. I love more people than I hate, esp. those who read this journal.
Ok, all, I need help with my Sr. Jersey name for Theta Chi... These are the options...
a) BITTERSWEET
b) SMOKEY
c) THE REV.
d) 'LIGION MAJOR
e) JUDAS ISCARIOT
f) SMOKE BREAK
g) Any additions are welcome
Pleas anyone who reads this, help me pick one!!!! Much love!

Current Music: You're Aging Well - Dar Williams
Let me start by stating: SPRING SING AND GREEK WEEK CHAMPS 2006!!!!! Theta Chi!
To follow up that fun news:
Go to Wikipedia and look up your birth day (excluding the year). List three neat facts/events, two births and one death in your journal, including the year.
November 9
Three Events:
694 - Hispano-Visigothic king Egica accuses Jews of aiding Muslims, sentencing all Jews to slavery.
1938 - Kristallnacht, Nazi Germany's first large-scale act of physical anti-Jewish violence, begins.
1989 - Communist-controlled East Germany opens checkpoints in the Berlin Wall allowing its citizens to freely travel to West Germany.
Two Births:
1841 - King Edward VII of the United Kingdom
1978 - Sisqó, American actor and singer (Funny if you saw Spring Sing!!!)
One Death:
1888 - Mary Jane Kelly, Final Victim of the infamous Whitechapel serial killer known as Jack the Ripper
There you have it my birthday in a nutshell.

Current Music: Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson (because of the Quiz)
So, today I went to Critical Thinking for the first time in a 4 classes, and we learned about dopesmoking and how to gamble well. Important life skills taught once more... Thanks Keating.
Today my shoulder has less pain than it has in a very very long time... but the funny thing is that there is less circulation to my hand... hmm... what a catch 22. Pain or circulation? I'm diggin the painless thing. And I didn't even take my morning Vicodin.
I'm glad to know that the feelings of paranoia are not confined to Doney 219 and it's universal. Well atleast Weleyanversal. I don't know about y'all but I feel that it is gonna happen here, it's a sad thing to say, but I do. :(
So up today I have Paul and the Early Church and Major Religious Thinkers. "The more I study Christianity, the less I believe in it" ~ Copied from the margin of my notebook from 2/2. It's becoming very true. I just don't even have the will to go and learn about Thessalonians, Gallatians, or Colossians. At all. And although I know that we are done with Luther and starting Kirkegaard in MRT, I don't have the will to study him, and he's my favorite.
It's kind of a true thing, the more I understand something, the less I like it. I'm all about the mystery. I wish that could be my major. Mystery. The Unknown. If it can't be that, then I'd like to major in Lightning Rounds.
And there is no Concentus today. (or Chorale). But it's really Concentus that gets me through the day. I love the program this semester, Gwenyth Walker is rocking my world. Seriously. If it weren't for that I wouldn't go to Chorale. I hate Elijah. And Carmina. At least we have that cool Keats blue piece. I don't want Spring Break to come because I just don't want to go to Charleston and sing over all break... I'd go if I liked the music... like the German Requiem. I loved that.
Alright, I must go, and this is seriously one of the coolest quizzes I've taken in a while... probably because I got a kick ass result!!! (Except the title is wrong):
| Your 2005 Song Is |
Since You've Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson
"But since you've been gone I can breathe for the first time I'm so moving on"
In 2005, you moved on. |
Oh, PS... Happy New 10 Dollar Bill Day. They Are Being Released Into Circulation Today... And They're Ugly. But Fun. So FunUgly. A whole new kind of Fugly.

Hey all. The Strawberry Festival is in full swing and I'm having a blast. I'm glad I'm here to witness this! So today is Dirk's birthday (Happy 18th, young 'en, now buy your own damn cigarettes), and there's a party tonight, I thought that I wasn't going to have anyone to chill with, but ran into one of Nina's dancers in town that I vaguely recognized and invited her, so it should be fun. Also last night, ran into the Lefebvre clan, talked about auditioning for Annie for community theater (if Barbara directs), she then talked me into pie eating contest and best legs contest at the festival. First was pie eating, 1st place in my heat of 8 guys, and then 2nd in the final :) so I got 2nd at pie eating, then I entered Best Legs (a men's only contest) and got first place! My calves sooo rock. I beat out a field of like 15-20. Woo me. I have a plaque shaped like a strawberry, and got to flirt around cause all the girls knew I had great calves.
Tomarrow I am going to the parade, and then to the birthday party, that's the extent of the big plans. Have a good one, y'all.

Wow, sometimes Buckhannon drives me crazy... seriously.
I spent all of last night either downloading french horn music or freaking out about the fact our house is indeed haunted. More horn music, but still.
I really need a job... dear god I need a job. Ok enough Chorus Line, but still, a job would be nice.
I also get bored. I download French Horn music, paint, rearrange my room (several times over), and read classic literature (
http://www.planetpdf.com/free_pdf_ebooks.asp?CurrentPage=1) That site lets you download free classic e-books. Woo!
Later,
